We pride ourselves on the quality of our communication with the families of the children that attend the setting.
We share information on a daily basis about what the children have been exploring and playing, how their day has been, any personal news for each child, including their interests, milestones met, and daily routine. We use the Famly app to communicate throughout the day with parents/carers, and all information is uploaded daily to ensure the families are aware of how the child’s day has been, what activities they have been exploring, and all meals, bottles, nappy changes, and naps their children have had throughout the day. Parents/carers and practitioners can message on the app if they have any information to share, and this method is also used to communicate the children’s ‘Intents’, which is explored in our Learning section of the website.
Despite having the Famly app as a means of communication, we pride ourselves on the daily interaction with parents/carers and families when they collect their children at the end of their nursery day. All parents are given verbal feedback and have this opportunity to chat face-to-face with the practitioners, which further promotes partnership with parents and builds on those existing relationships.
The setting offers an ‘Open Door Policy’ so parents feel welcome to chat at any time. We also host two parent’s evenings annually, which provides a wonderful opportunity for families to engage with our practitioners on an informal basis whilst discussing their children’s development and the progress they have made. This also provides an opportunity to meet other families within the setting, thus fostering a community around the nursery.
